Piggin birds !

Featured Replies

Less than 6 hours after a good clean and polish, a bird turd sits on the roof (or did until I went out and removed with wet wipe) ... it might be time to invest in a pellet gun :giggle:

Sorry just had to let of steam, the beggars block my gutters with discarded slugs too :@

/looks at getting a pet Sparrowhawk

I suffer the same problem. They sit on next door's tv ariel then as they leave they deposit loads all over the car and drive. I did think about a shotgun, take out the birds and the ariel at the same time. I think a more legal solution is a silhouette of a hawk or other bird of prey up on the roof might deter them!

We're moving to the coast soon. Any tips on seagull-crap avoidance, anyone?

Keep it under cover at all times!

You need a Bird Loo

The silhoutte idea may work wonders you know - worth a try

Although I can imagine 'regular' visitors to the area will soon become desensitised to it and start to ignore it.

I live at the seaside. Losing battle trying to avoid it. Seagulls have to be the worst too. Turns into cement when dry :( bug and tar remover helps that though. We have a bird deterrant. Its actually to keep cats off garden by emitting a high pitched noise but works with birds too

Aswell as any dogs leaving mess outside my house. I can also adjust the frequency if I get any louts in the alley next to my car.

That's what happens when you feed a bird bacon...

Pig in bird? Never mind...

A good coating of wax/sealant will make it easier to remove - I've used "ArmorAll Shield" and that seemed to work well.

Make sure to remove it early (even a rinse with a bottle of water) to avoid it etching into the paint - especially seagull explosions as they are like acid!

If you don't like your neighbours you could get a cat to frighten off the bids and it'll crap in their gardens too. 2 for 1........

I feel your pain.... just came back from my Barcelona F1 trip this weekend.

Left the car on the driveway and looks like birds are nesting nearby!

...what a mess!

But thankfully - the sealant seems to be doing its job and they rinse off with minimal fuss.

Yes, I keep it well protected, and I keep baby wipes in the car for when I'm out. I've got a free sachetful of ArmorAll that might cover the roof the roof. I'm thinking about buying a cover until I can get a car port built. Lesser of two evils, maybe.
