Featured Replies

Done a few searches on here but can't find an answer, please can anyone advise where is the best / approved jacking point for a trolley jack?

Many thanks

You will open a can of worms, as so many opinions!!!

I use the points under car which the car body uses to rest on at the factory (jack pad mod) then I put the axle stand under the sill at the marked points as per the handbook. But you can use under the front wishbone, or under the spring pan on the rear axle. Depends what you are working on.

As above I use the same points that fabdavrav uses with the help of an ice hockey puck atop the jack to stop any damage.

Axle stands for belt and braces approach if working under the car.

I have had professional tyre fitters place the jack under the sill seam (on other cars) to lift the car and bend the sill. Before they work on the car I talk to them to never use the seam. On my original mini they used the floor pan!!
