Discoloured Blue Badges

Featured Replies

I have recently bought a 2003 Octavia vRS and the front/rear badges have turned blue.

Just for research purposes, has anybody else had this happen? ...and, if so, what year and mileage is your car?

my rear badge has gone blue as well, mileage is 84k, I just thought someone had put a blue one on lol.

I think the sun fades and discolours then, I bought two genuine badges off eBay for £22

Were your cars 2003 registered?

I am interested because I have seen a couple and they are all 2003 - but when I spoke to Skoda they said that the previous owner must have been a bit vigorous with their sponge!!??  I think it must have been a dodgy batch of badges.

or looking at our locations, is it the bright Yorkshire weather - I expect all those pace cars in the TdF 2014 to have blue badges by the time they leave God's Own County!

Mines 2003 and had discoloured badges

Me thinks there is a pattern here.

Mines 2003 and my badges are all worn and blue lol

Mines a 03 and my badges where dodgy, but they'd been on 9 years from factory!

I don't think the years on a car should be an excuse for them failing - I have seen plenty of older Skodas with perfectly coloured original badges.

I think Skoda should acknowledge the failure and offer free replacements - after all we are driving around examples of the longevity of their company's build standards.

....failing that, I am going to tell the kids that you can tell an undercover FBI agent by the blueness of their Skoda badge!

That looks really smart.

Bought a 2003 (53 plate) L+K estate in November, it came with blue badges front and rear....i thought they were exclusive to L+K models..........it would appear not !!

Went over mine with a green whiteboard pen... Worked a treat!

Those badges look great! Can you get them from eBay or only the dealer? Can you share the part numbers please?

You can get those from Ebay fairly cheap.  Think I paid about £6 for non genuine copies or you can pick genuine badges up for about £12-15.  Not sure how much the dealer charges for them.
