Saw a white Rapid Spaceback today

Featured Replies

I really like the car but am I the only one who thinks that the white one looks like a taxi from behind?

It's the black tailgate top half that does it.

I don't quite follow.. what type of taxi?

I don;t think any car look sgood in white to be honest...   (I await the flaming from those that do or the fashion conscious amongst us who must have the 'in' colour...   )

Depends on the type of car to be honest, but then again that goes for any colour.

I saw a O3 vRS hatch in silver this morning (only the 3rd vRS I've actually seen) - IMO didn't suit it at all.

Maybe - Silver does tend to look pretty smart on most cars though - white just looks llike nothing, regardless of shape of car etc. (again IMO)

I dont think your face looks good to be honest!

I went into the dealer for a race blue Spaceback mate. Saw the sport and thought it looked good and was a good deal. Wouldn't have chosen white otherwise but it only comes in white.

Superb's look nice in white, Race blue will become a very common colour now you can get it in all variants, not just a Vrs

Now Yellow, thats a different story

Yellow,  the new blue

All I'll say to that is.....

If everyone had the same taste they would only make cars in one colour.

The Rapid does look good in yellow I must say, especially with some nice wheels and Eibachs fitted like Richard's former toy. It put mine to shame at the national meet!

Haven't seen a rapid in yellow. I'm basing my low opinion on what the octy vrs looked like in sprint yellow...

Any pics?

Hmmmm....

I like the wheels

They did/do look excellent combined with being lowered. I can't remember BossFox/Ricahrd sold them with the car or if he's still got them idling in a garage somewhere.

Round here they're white, with black bonnet, roof and tailgate/boot lid.

Don't get me wrong. As I said above, I like the look of the car in any other colour but personally, I wouldn't want a white one.

Like this you mean:

Why do taxis have different  coloured panels - never really figured that one out?

Yup. That's it.

Yeah is a bit taxi-ish, its the all black back panel which does it

Exactly, that's what stuck out for me.

If I had to have a white one, I'd be thinking about making the black a different colour, but what?

  • 2 weeks later...

Saw a white Spaceback at the dealer today on 17s with the roof and glass tailgate. The 17s go some way to making up for the too-high suspension as they fill the arches better, but the red one in the showroom with the ray wheels was lowered and that looked better still. I'd happily have had either if they had the sports seats, satnav and climate.
