Total closure by remote?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, am I correct in thinking that vagcom/vcds can 'switch on' the total closure on the remote? If so, anyone near Farnham that could do it for some beer money? It works by using the key in the lock, but would be great to have it on the remote. Thanks

Can't be done via vcds needs hard wiring with alien tech interface or similar, see robs pimpmyskoda site has info on there. only problem is alien tech don't make them any more.

Yes it can be programmed in dunno which software did it tho as another member did it for me. Doesn't need hard wiring. Take it you do mean opening and closing the windows by holding the lock or unlock button on the remote?

Only needs hardwiring on the fabia

Or you buy a KVW100, I did. :)

MKM works. You just need a cheapo ebay cable

Lead arrived lunchtime, damn that was quick! Took me a couple of goes to register mkm but finally got it, had to change port on laptop, but found a guide one here, all done and now have total closure.... Thanks again guys for your help

Glad you got it sorted :)

I did it with MKM but it is a pain really if I am honest. As you have to keep finger on remote as it is not auto close/open with remote. I have walked away and left windows open all night thinking I was at a distance they would close. The distance needed is a lot closer than the door locks work at.

Could it be your battery in remote? Mine works as long as the car picks up the signal so from normal lock/unlock distance.

Does the MK1 auto close them after a certain period of time has passed?

Not that I am aware of. To me the mod is not total auto closure as it is manual closure if you have to keep remote button depressed until window is shut or open or are folks who have this mod just pressing remote once?

No that's how it works for everyone even on new cars.

The idea being that you can close them partially to ventilate the car etc.

hey i'm just happy it works full stop! I don't unlock my car until I get to it, and I lock it when I get out, so i'm happy

I have to hold it down but it works from a good distance away

Just tried it before I got to the car, was roughly 20 ft away, and remembering top gear....I pointed it at my head and it worked around 30 ft away lol

That's not the problem but to benefit with the windows you basically have to stand there and press button and hold it before you get in till windows are down and then when you get out you need to stand there and close windows till shut then walk off. I left windows open 3 times now not checking they were fully closed lol. Maybe it is just me then.

I open or close mine when walking up to it or away, the range has never been a problem, maybe you need a new battery?

Hmm seems that way.

Will do that I think...
