Featured Replies

Car..... Superb 1.8tsi Petrol

I might have asked this before but I need to get some engine oil.

Last time I got castrol edge 5W-30 Fully Synthetic from Halfords.

Is that one OK?

Anyone know where you can get it at a good price

thanks

You can get a 4ltr bottle on amazon for £35. if you trust Ebay sellers £31.

Fixed or variable servicing?

thanks andy. my local Halfords has it about £47

I was thinking ebay might be a bit risky and you could end up with some old chip fat.

Denis. ... Not sure what you mean. when i bought the car S/H from a dealer i bought a service plan for two services, one of which I had at about 20K. Not sure when the next one is due. Dealer said they'd ring me

If you have maxidot then you can check if you are on fixed or variable servicing there. Spec wise on the oil. Must be 502.00 for fixed servicing or 504.00 for variable servicing. If in doubt go for the better 504.00 spec oil. I put 504.00 oil in our Octavia 1.8 TSI even though it is on fixed servicing. The cost difference is minimal.

Castrol EDGE FST 5W-30 Fully Synthetic, change early, change often.
