Wiring for cruise control?

Featured Replies

Got a stalk but no wiring, going to fit it in a vrs so wondered if anyone on here makes or sells the wiring part.

Thanks

As far as I understand it depends on the age of the car. Some have the wiring loom ready to go others don't. I take it you've checked?

I think Tech1e can supply the looms.

They are pretty easy to fit but do normally require one of the wires to be put through to the engine bay and soldered to the ECU harness.

Personally i'd order the kit from Skoda and sell on your stalk. You get the genuine wiring and the instructions.

Nope, if it wasn't factory fited no Fabia has the CC wiring in place.

Thnx Tech1e - it seems that I was given duff info by the dealers!

So you don't sell the loom?

I seen the stalk and thought it's worth a shot, looking on eBay the kit is only about £70 anyway so not that bad!

I noticed on the Brisky facebook group there is a guy called Ross Clarke-Phillips who posted a picture of his Friday night in making cruise control looms.

Might be worth giving him a shout if he can sort one out for you?

Yes mate I believe that's Tech1e

Haha. Didn't realise!

Any ideas what wires are needed? I had CC on my last Fabia vRS that I crashed, I still have the entire loom and stalks but dunno what's needed exactly

Removing the CC loom from a car that had it from factory would be tricky. They are in the main harness, not really worth the effort in my book when they have a kit available. The loom I made the other night was for a Fabia II as currently Skoda don't do a kit for one with MFA.

I hear you, although it is possible for you to make them? I would pay you of course.

It is possible. It would largely depend on how you wish to install it.

Plus I'd charge about £25 plus postage to cover the cost of the parts.

I've heard there is two ways, an easy way and a hard way, I'd choose the hard way and take most the dash out and whatever's needed to do it properly.

There is a hard way and an easy way. Both are 'proper' though.
