How long to wait?

Featured Replies

Ordered a private reg plate on Sunday and received the V750 form yesterday and just posted it just now.

How long roughly does it take them to send it back with the confirmation letter, MOT and Tax disc?

The DVLA are in turmoil this year so it could be days or weeks.   You won't have much luck chasing them by phone either, doesn't work, there is the 'Process' it goes through and that is it.   Sit back and have a cup of tea------well maybe a few.

2 weeks on average based on my recent experience.

Took about a week when i had private plate removed a month or so ago

I think OP was asking how long to get a retained registration onto car, and not how long to actually wait for the retention certificate.

Like you, I got the retention certificate in a week (whist waiting for new car to arrive), but then 2 weeks to get it processed onto my new car (done in 2 stages and not  from car to car BTW).

Ahhh right gotcha now, best to ignore my comment then as i only had to wait for a private plate to come off my car before biying it

Mine has also taken 2 weeks to be removed.
