Feel free to drop me a message on here if you want to know where some of the best trails are! (sorry for de-railing the discussion!)

That's OK :)

This is my first car, although compared to all of the cars I'd done lessons in, the only one that was more stable in the wind was a Peugeot 306 Turbo Diesel around 17 years ago (I lost interest when I realised I could never afford to actually run a car myself due to the cost of insurance). That thing didn't like changing its course at all, even with steering input. :wall:

The worst by far was a Corsa C 1.2 petrol. I had some motorway lessons on a reasonably windy day after passing my test on the M1 and the thing wanted to change lanes each time I overtook a lorry or went under a bridge.

I think the weight of the car has the biggest bearing on how stable it is in the wind. The heavy diesel lump in the front of my Fabia kinda makes it like a dart at speed (weight at the front keeps it on course). I imagine the lightweight and fairly simple 1.4 MPI will be a completely different kettle of fish.

I nearly bought one of those instead of the Fabia. Glad I came to my senses. Haha
