Thought I should post a little update. The car hasn't tried to catch fire recently which is a great step in the right direction. I've still got an issue where the drivers seat reclines by itself over a period of a day or so but the dealer isn't interested. Can't see it so isn't happening!!

I've decided to just run it for now and once my elusive promotion happens I'll be changing it. Its a great car but the engine has taken the shine off it as well as the questionable build quality.

*Edit* seems I didn't mention the fire thing here. Got to work and there was smoke coming from under the bonnet. Opened it up to find diesel all over the engine. RAC diagnosed a faulty (split) pipe that recirculates excess diesel back to the tank. Replaced and no more issue. OK for a day then got to work again and same issue. Called dealer, got it taken in and they diagnosed a faulty injector. Warranty would pay for the injector but not the associated pipes etc..cost to me just over £300. I said no and in the end the dealer paid for it. I'd only had the car 2 months and 29 days! I wasn't impressed..got it back a few days later and its been OK so far. The dealer was OK..but it took ages to get me a courtesy car..at one point they were telling me I'd have to hire a car at my own cost! Then the sales manager wasn't in so couldn't authorise the work..it was just a nightmare.

Its left me dissapointed with the car and Ford in general.
