Petrol Maxidot

Featured Replies

Boom, just won a brand new Maxidot cluster which will work with my petrol car :D

Would i be correct in my reading that the comfort control module only needs upgrading to give the comfort menu (waiting for one to come up on eBay) and is not a requirement for the dash pod to work?

Correct.

I think the menu will show but the options may be limited (cornering fogs for instance require an MY08 or newer module I think.

That's cool, i have seen CCEM's go for 40ish on ebay so waiting for a good one to come up :)

happy that a Petrol Maxidot has finally come up on ebay.. been watching for months!

All maxidots seem pretty rare on ebay especially the petrol ones!

I never saw a single petrol ones while searching for my maxidot.

Like I say if you got a module from at least 2008 you should get cornering fog lights and maybe a couple of other things.

Yeah want to do it for rain closing... just keeping an eye out for a reasonably priced one.

Ah yeah.

I have that on mine with it being an MY08 car.

You will love maxidot... next on the list is a Columbus! :giggle:

You'll possibly have to enable the convenience menu via VCDS, if it is anything like mine.

Not immediately obvious and I only found out by chance.

Ah, i am getting confused between the central electrics module and the comfort control module for some reason..

are you sure the rain closing is a Central Electrics module feature? eddie has a CCM  in the FS which he has mentioned is for auto closing?

Righty, i need to do some reading to work out what CCM will play nicely with the Gen1 door control's (1T0 959 701), i think:

1K0 959 433 AR

1K0 959 433 CB

Seen them go on ebay recently for £35ish... just need to keep an eye out!

Interesting, your 54 plate elegance has a lower Central Electrics module to my 05 plate elegance, I have:

1K0 937 049 N = 21 Byte (Highline)

yours is: 1K0 907 049 T = 17 Byte (Highline)

wonder what the byte difference is.

flipside is, i have a min convenience module :(

Rain closure activated after the new CCM was installed. also now got chirps on the locking.

took me a while to work out how to code rain closing, new to VCDS and didn't realise about the drop down to open the coding for the rain sensor settings for rain closing.

Maxidot is going in on Wednesday :)

won't bother with central electrics though - i already have a 21 byte and its not worth the hassle just for cornering fogs!

cheers guys :)
