Keep the suggestions coming guys.

I might need to run a couple of products even on the first offering if interest level is good.

How would everyone feel about a Shampoo or Snow foam plus another product? Idea being both as 100ml sample bottles, order one or order both your choice, same price per sample inc delivery.

I am always surprised how many washes I get from 50ml Waxybox Shampoo Samples, I used a Mainz car car PH Passion Sample last night for the 3rd time and still have enough left for 2 washes.  So if the Shampoo is a high diluation ratio variety 100ml could give ten washes.

  • Well done on putting something back into the forum Mark.  What a great example to set. grr666 likes this.

  • clearly pitched this far too cheap   Thanks for all of the positive comments guys.   I'll be working hard not to dissapoint.   Edit: please don't drink any of the samples!

Shampoo and snowfoam testers sound like an ideal place to start!

Thanks Steve, I think I am settled on the idea of running two products.

One will be a high quality shampoo the other will be judged on responses to this thread.............so watch this space for further updates.

I will go for shampoo because in all honesty I have been quite loyal over the years to the same handful of snowfoams :giggle: but it means that the following month's sale will include a snowfoam after I have had some fun testing out new products.  I have 50 Cal's Ambush Snowfoam and Chemical Guys Mr Pink I want to try out (Mr Pink can be used as Shampoo or Snowfoam :o ) and will get hold of some others to select a product for July.

Please post up your Shampoo preferences folks. would you rather see a deep cleansing shampoo, a maintenance wash and wax for topping up your protection, a blingy shampoo chockful of optical brighteners to enhance your car's looks?

I am working hard behind the scenes now talking to potential suppliers

Don't stop posting :D

Snowfoam is also a good idea purely because people do stick to the same few.

Definitely agree on how long waxybox samples of shampoo last, I've still got a couple with a few uses left in them.

Possibly Carbon Collective Lusso shampoo, haven't had a chance to try that yet.

You must be mind reader, I have a waxybox tester of this to pop in with your Gyeon stuff Tom :D

Good few possibilities on the shampoo front, and yes the idea is to get people trying new things.

Haha hidden talent mate! ;) cheers dude, looking forward to getting that.

Sounds good Mark, sure lots of people will be interested.

Shampoos are always good.

Also some of the more obscure products - I've still got a sample (from DW) of Tardis.

To answer the thread:

Optimum Optimax Sealer?

Do you mean Optimum Opti-Seal, Chris? Tis good stuff, I used extensively before I switched to C2v3. Very much a WOWA product.

Don't want to be a party pooper guys but..........

Sadly it is overly optimistic to think I can bring you 100ml samples of Opti-seal at £4 delivered when normal retail for 200ml is approx £23-24 delivered, but I will nonetheless look into options along this line.

I still believe that there should be plenty of nice interesting products in the pipeline. :)

orchard cotton candy snowfoam has had some decent reviews? for a suggestion, not for me though as I don't have a lance :(

Liking the idea of shampoos!

Wheel cleaner/sealant? Possibly?

Wheel sealant is a good idea

I have a suggestion Mark. Could each sample specialise in one area, such as wheel cleaner and sealant/wax. Then say a pre wash with either a snowfoam or shampoo?

Enjoying the suggestions guys, this will all be used to shape the future of 'Wax Appeal'

Oh yeah, it has a name now ;)

Yep, great idea. Can't think of many more suggestions at the moment, but would echo snowfoam and shampoo sampling myself.

Also some nanotech-type products, trim detailing protection products for example - I've just bought some Wolf's Trim Coat from CYC this week, so won't need anything like that for a while myself, but might be interesting for others. Also interior protection products - the likes of CG's Fabic Protector etc.

Also leather cleaning, conditioning and proection products could worth well in sample sizes, allow you to test one seat or one area, and easily compare against no protection or work, or review against a rival product.

I wouldn't always have the sample size fixed either - for me it needs to be enough to trial something. Especially with the nanotech products when a little goes a long way!

Cheers,
Steve

Fk1000p ?

Asked about wheel sealant on DW and people were going mad about this stuff. A quick search of YouTube shows people having used this across the whole car??

I'm setting myself some boundaries and targets for now Steve so that the format is simple, understandable and manageable from my side.  Fixed sample size, fixed cost for the first couple of sales, then we can really start to have some fund.  Initially this will of course lend itself to more general use products/detailing staples, hopefully the kind of products people will try and think 'yeah this is something I need to have in my kit bag.'  Most of all I want people if possible to get more than one use out of a sample so that there is a value element.

There is literally so much I could bring to the table even as early as next week but this is actually me taking a conscious decision to exercise discipline and not get carried away.  Quartz and Nano type protectants are by no means out of the reach of this sales format and I should hopefully in a short space of time be offering some exciting and different things.  The sky is the limit

I really want all of you guys to have an input and feel like you have a little ownership over this service, I'm really chuffed at the response so far.

FK1000p isn't a new product either, so interesting to see the DW levels of enthusiasm are still at that level. A good sign

Never used it myself, I use Jeff's sealants. But it's always got good feedback and could easily be used as a paintwork sealant yes. In fact that's its design, it's just that people tried and noticed it worked very well on wheels, and dealt with the higher temps well.

FK1000p Hi-Temp Paste Sealant is a great product, it will take some setup before I can offer samples of this type of jar/tin packaged product.  But if the demand is there it will certainly happen.

Absolutely. Sorry, wasn't trying to muddy the waters :)

You'll of course find people are at different levels and want different products. So to start with what you're planning sounds 100% spot-on

Thanks Steve

Just wait until i am offering my own wax label :o

lol, maybe not just yet

I'm sure if you offered a higher priced 'Wax Appeal' along with the £4 one people would still be tempted Mark

£4.50?

I would urge a little restraint at first though. for purely selfish reasons that I am being forced to spend money on the house / new arrival meaning there is precious little left at the minute. It would pain me something rotten to have to miss out on these!

As such, I again refer to my previous appeal of a Detailing Charity fund...haha!!

This sounds like a good idea and, for me, the right price.

Not knowing much about these things, how far does 100ml go?

Obviously depends upon what it is, I know.

I'd be interested in any snowfoam and wheel cleaner/sealers...  sounds a great idea !

Now this really is a bargain, snowfoam (and a lance) for £4.

Optimum No Rinse?
