No subframe on the Volvo? you can convert it to rear wheel application easy enough by using tie rods instead of steering arms. Most I've seen are bespoke solutions, unless you already have a chassis with suspension, then you can get one off drive shafts to match different inner and outer arrangements ie volvo engine.. MG hubs.

 

Might be better off using a complete engine gearbox subframe assembly from one car, VR6, Focus ST, Mazda 3 MPS all pootentially good outputs.

I can see you turning into a serial car builder.   I say good on you, you learn so many new skills building Kit cars.

This probably isn't going to go down well in circles where people have big budgets, but if you're sticking big bits of box section together, you can do far worse than to have a go with a stick welder.

No big budget Steve all done with Beer money mate,,..used to drink alot of beer... Not tried a stick welder, probably stay with MIG as I've already bought a MIG welder

If your tyring to guage your penitration. Weld somewhere that you can see the other side of so you can guage the penitration.

penitration is important. GGo on youtube and there are loads of videos on there. Some better than others
