Audi TT front end, should I get it? Yes you should!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have recently purchased the following for my Octy

TT subframe with bushes

TT cast wishbones with bushes

TT quick rack

TT hubs

I have had them all installed for 2 days now and I have to say WOW, what a difference! I feel so much more confident in the steering, there's hardly any noise and the front end feels solid and I haven't had any wheel judder at all, which is quite amazing. I can't wait to get some new front tyres to see how it really handles!

I would 100% suggest doing this upgrade!

The more I drive it and experience it, I will share me finding.

is the subframe different then? I wasn't aware of that!

I think the subframe is the same

The subframe is the same, but attached to it has the better ARB, better bushes and reinforced parts.

How much you pay for all this lot if you don't mind me asking?

If you want double amazing get a diff !

as well as the ARB it may also have the lower brace and if its off the 3.2 then it has two extra ones as well.

the split bushes make a difference as well as they are mostly metal and therefore flex a lot less.

hubs and arms can be set up differently as well.

Nope exactly the same. Can just add the extra parts to the VRS and get the same effect. However the LCR/TT/S3/R32 has better subframe bushes fitted to chassis that you can also fit to VRS subframe as I have done and it stiffens subframe movement.

Check out parts section guy selling whole lot minus subframe for less than £130, which is great price.

You sure buddy I thought it was only the TT roadster got the extra bracing due to not having a solid roof.

I fitted that extra bracing to my VRS also... :)

Hey fella, glad you are really praising the results!

What bushes have you gone for in the wishbones?

I'm picking up the same set up on Saturday with the bushes already removed from the arm's so I'm undecided whether to get OE, polybush normal, castor adjusting super pro, and possibly the defcon style BOWDERS1 has just fitted.

I'm pretty excited about it now after reading your feedback on the conversion.

Would you recommend adding the superpro subframe Bush inserts to go with the OE lcr/tt ones?

Cheers

Not sure they even do poly bushes for rear of subframe, are you getting mixed up with wishbone/control arm bushes.

I know there are solid subframe bushes like these

I did consider these but thought would sent too much vibration through car.

I have the OEM LCR subframe two piece bushes in my rear subframe.

Maybe I'm wrong but I found this in psi's website:

http://www.psituning.com/product.php/16142/superpro_pack____front_lower_rear_engine_mount__front_bush_insert____spf2575k___leon_cupra_r_1m

It does denote the lcr but it may be listed incorrectly. I've seen these for my wife's mk5 golf, you retain the OE Bush and it slips in between, uses the big washer to clamp it in place.

I deffo don't want the solid alloy Bush with all the engine vibration, I just switched the dogbone mount to a red one yo eliminate terrible cabin noise!
