Navigation Coding for pre-fl with columbus

Featured Replies

Hi All

Managed to get a bargain columbus, so i asked my mechanic to code it today while doing a service

Anyway we could connect but for some reason his long coding helper is acting up so we couldn't see the byte descriptions, now with looking through rosstech we managed to get the nav working on maxidot but now my screen buttons are gone to vw red :(

can someone post up their working coding for 37-Navigation from a pre-fl with Columbus so i can just type it in and avoid the long coding helper

Thanks

Dallan

Which buttons are red? The ones on the Columbus?

AFAIK the Columbus can't change backlight colour. The VW RNS-510 can do red or white I believe.

Have you coded 19-CAN gateway to recognise that navigation is installed first?

I will give that a shot Mike

Yeah navigation is enabled and working, but now the colour scheme on the columbus screen is vw now so on the touchscreen where the green boxes around the radio station names for example are red now, obviously the backlights are still green on the physical buttons

playing with byte 7 bit 4+5 got it working (but with red buttons) but not sure exactly which way to set it due to the missing text in vcds helper

Thanks

Dallan

Here is my coding:

06 00 04 02 00 01 00 01 00 00

Next to Mikes which is:

06 00 04 02 00 01 00 00 00

Seems like you won't go far wrong with replicating his as a starter (the extra byte in mine is to do with the optical parking module I have fitted I think).

Pre-FL on a 2009???

This has surprised me a the past thread too Mike, but apparently there were a few made in early 2009 as a few members answered that thread to say they had a 2009 pre FL.

True

Hi,

Don't know if this will help or not but here's my coding from a pre-FL(2008) vRS with Columbus fitted. Adam may remember this fate my issues with coding! Note the last part about VW boot screen and logo appearing.

0E- show that parking aid/assist is inactive-correct for my car

00- no sound system- correct

04-4 speaker setup

00- no microphone diagnostics-correct

00-not coded speaker monitoring inactive

01- equalization Skoda Octavia 1Z

92- no voice control, no steering wheel buttons, display variant-sportsline

00- boot screen for VW and traffic sign inactive

Hope this helps

Steve

PS had to send this from my phone, why do my posts just save and not get added to the thread on my PC??

True, thinking about it it was only yesterday that I saw an 09 plate pre-FL.........

Having said that, the coding for the Columbus should be the same anyway.

Mike

They are about Mike, I see one every day when I walk out my front door, mine is one of the last of the pre face-lifts built at the end of Oct '08 but not registered until the end of April '09. Probably due to the spec and price of it. An L&K with Columbus and DSG.
