Is this the same Skoda that put in no boot light, no illuminated door switches,  a rattling bones gearbox, no arch liners, no soundproofing, candle power headlights, soft paint, semi- adjustable steering wheel, no spare wheel, and a satnav that has a mid-life crisis? ?

I don't think that I would necessarily trust their judgement on the part-time heat shield  (half on the car, half laying on the road)........

That's the one :)

It's what they call a pain-pleasure sensation... but I would still like to know if the heat shield can go in the bin..

It has a surprising effect in that it has a remarkable cooling effect but its quality of make is laughable. So I would say keep it if possible or do as many do in Germany make another out of proper aluminium.

Thank you for your reply.

I was hoping the answer would be that it's as much use as a chocolate fire-guard!
