Hi guys coming over from the mk1 forum, I have got as of Saturday a nice blue 08 plate octavia vrs pd 170 few questions for u guys

It has maxidot so can I still fit a satnav unti in? And how easy?

What's the best to get oem, they all look same lol ideally would like a touch screen unit, and can any them be hooked up to dvds and that?

2nd question did any the octavia vrs's have autodimming rear view mirror? If so does this have the auto light function and rain wipers?

And 3rd how does the headlight washer system work with the xenons?

Sorry for all questions but noticed quite a bit on this car and not sure what the specs are fully on it, also any issues with these pd's I Shuld look out for. Thanxs for any info guys

I have Xenons and the washers wash them every 5th windscreen wash. I think this can be altered with VCDS.

Or you can save fluid and quickly double pull the windows washing lever and not spray the Xenons.

The Columbus is easy enough to fit but requires some coding to show on the maxidot.

The auto mirror etc all came as a single option on the vrs.

The Bolero isn't a sat nav - just a radio/6 cd mp3 player.

The headlight washer timing can be altered with VCDS. I tweaked it on mine to only activate after a 1.5s duration pull on the stalk - and it still only fired every 5th wipe of the screen, as per standard.

 

Rain/light sensor - already answered

 

And I have a stereo surround spare for the Columbus fitment, if you want it.

Where's the 1.5 second setting please???

I'll dig out the thread info, was a couple of years ago I found and tweaked the setting. There's a variable time field basically; I went for 1.5s as a happy medium (for me anyway). So it was long enough for you to definitely want the lights to be washed

 

Have a feeling though that some FL people that tried it weren't successful :(

I have octavia II LnK 06 with fitted bolero HU..

Works like a charm,but doesn't have navigation
