New L&K 4x4 DSG problem update

Featured Replies

Update on DSG problem, car still with dealer. Skoda technical had asked the dealer to do a number of checks. reprogram the software and check correct oil was used by factory, none of this worked. the car is now sat at the dealer awaiting the delivery of a new mechatronics unit.

This is due next tuesday, once fitted a road test will be complete and Skoda technical will then request some data to be sent back to them. Fingers crossed will get it back Wednesday/Thursday.

will keep you posted

Thanks for the update.

Hope that you will feel confident in it, on its return from the dealer after the mods/ repairs.

I hope that you can put your "Brown Trousers" back in the wardrobe after Thursday.

Being a bit 'hysterical' here Keith...if you don't mind me saying so. :D

Hope you get it back fully operational with no more problems Gasser.

Nah, that's not hysterical.

WHAT!!!!!!!!?   :o   :o   :o

Worst nightmare scenario there imo.

You are one very very very  lucky lucky lucky bunny.

What would and could have happened if you hadn't been able to drift over onto the hard shoulder REALLY doesn't bare thinking about

I was genuinely horrified when I read Gassers horrendous tale.

I'd have been absolutely cacking myself and could actually remotely feel the instant anguish he must have experienced.

Merely stating an OPINION.......based on horror stories like THIS particular one, i.e. car' slipping into neutral whilst in the outside lane of a busy motorway.

I think I'd have been bordering on hystria and blind panic if I'd had to endure what Gasser had to, especially if the inner two lanes had been rammed with fast moving traffic.

Thank God this wasn't the case, and he managed to get over onto the hard shoulder.

Totally unacceptable scenario IN MY OPINION.

Obviously or at least seemingly you think this....granted... possibly/hopefully  rare and one off problem is quite normal and acceptable then?

Well I tell you, IF it had happened to me, I'd never want to go near a car with DSG ever again.

........now that is hysteria!!  ;)

Hysterical? Citroen Xantia, outside lane 75mph, M1 Sheffield, raining, dash lit up like a christmas tree, no power to engine or steering no indicators or emergency lights, traffic closing up behind flashing me to move over, cars undertaking on the left. Praying for a miracle ....... 2 minutes seemed like a life time ..... power resumed and got home safely. Never happened again.

Seen Gasser's tale and agree that was definitely squeaky bum time> strange how these things happen
