Amundson Sat Nav in Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi all,

We have just took delivery of a Skoda Octavia Estate SE  1.6 TDI, we love it so far but 1 negative is that you cant seem to navigate to an address with the Amundson Sat Nav using a Postcode.

Previously on our Tom Tom Sat Nav in our old Car we always used the Postcode to navigate to an address & its a pain to have to put the full address in with the Skoda.

Also unbelievably we put in a full address of our friends in Stoke and it did not recognise the street! They have lived there for about 30 years & the road is not new or even close to being new!!!

So how do you input a postcode into the Amundson Sat Nav please.

Many Thanks

It is possible. Is it under the 'town' option.

Hold on, will go and check mine again

Hi, I know this is possible as I did it myself the other day. There was a button in bottom left after selecting New Destination I think. It's labelled Pstcd. or something. I'll have a look and let you know.

Ha ha, you beat me to it :D

OK, go to 'new destination', then press on the 'town' option. There is a postcode button in bottom left cforner.

As mentioned, its an abbrevation. Doesnt actually say postcode infull

There are new maps out this week - check your map version, you can almost guarantee it won't be the latest version

Have a look here.

Thanks for the speedy replies Guys. I can't check if it works for me right now because she who must be obeyed is out in the Car.

Whilst you were so good with my 1st question can you please help with another?

I have paired my Samsung S3 with the Bluetooth & all is good, except in the info box between the speedo & Rev counter I can't get it to list my contacts! All it will show is the list of my most recent calls. Can I get my contacts up in the info box? Or am I stuck with most recent calls? My friend has a Yeti SE with steering wheel controls & he can get his contacts up. I have an SE but no wheel controls all is done with the R/H indicator stalk.

Once again thanks Guys.

I don't think you can get the full list of contacts up, which is a bit off an odd oversight. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong now.

Weirdly this is correct, the maxidot will only show recent calls, there is no way to see contacts on there, it seems Skoda would prefer you to take a hand of the steering wheel.....

To select a postcode you need to select a new country!! Weird I know, but once you select UK then PCDE button is in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Thanks to all, I have now checked my Sat Nav & its as you all say a little button saying PCDE in the bottom left.

It doesn't let you then select a house number but a Postcode is usually only 6 or 7 houses anyway so that's close enough for me.

Anyway the main thing is I can now select an address via a Postcode, which is what I wanted to do.

Thanks Guys  :D

No need to select a new country, there is that option, but it should be UK already, unless you searched fir a different country the previous time you searched for an address. Just because it us in the options doesn't mean you have to choose, simply leave it in UK and press town, then the postcode option is there

I just wish it wasn't touch screen

I just wish it wasn't touch screen

Its also voice activated! Just got to learn all the voice commands. Testing it though, I did manage to get it to give me directions to somewhere or another, without pressing any buttons!!
