Need a wheel!

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

One of my wheels has taken a knock and is misshapen and needs replacing.

Anyone have any idea where I can get one Fabia wheel from? Already tried the local breakers yards but no luck, hoping to pick one up second hand as the new price for a single wheel is outrageous!

Fabia 2 HTP 70 2008

205/45/16

Thanks,

Ben.

I cant help, but i am interested in what people have to say.

Iv wanted the Atria wheels for my fabia for a while now, but theres no way im paying £500 for 4 + tyres

Are you still able to drive the car as it is or is it off the road?

The reason I ask is because your best bet is going to be that popular online auction website, there are a vast array of car breakers that advertise full damaged cars for breaking, simply find a fabia with those wheels and send them a message.

Obviously this is going to take the best part of a week.

Try 'Skospares', really helpful bloke.

The cars actually failed it's MOT based on the wheel, so it's off the road but I have a week or so to sort it.

I've spoken to alot of local brokers, but looks like mail order from a bigger broker elsewhere is my best bet.

Do you not got a spare?

Might be worth buying one to use now, then puttin it in boot when you find the correct wheel?

Just a space-saver spare which is what most people have these days!

Hmm. Can you not pass an mot on a spacesaver?

I had a wheel which hit a pothole a couple of years ago, was a really hard knock and left a visible dent on the inner side of the wheel. I had it straightened and trued by a guy near Dublin that specialises in that kinda stuff. Was a simple job as it wasnt cracked and its been fine ever since. Worth considering as it only cost me €80 including full rebalance.

No, as the tyre sizes do not match across the axle.

Tried to wanted section or the for sale section?

Sadly not.

Pretty sure that's exactly what's happened - I really don't now how bad the damage is though, hard to see with a tyre on I guess, might pop it to a local garage and see about a repair quote! Thanks

It sounds so obvious when you say it like that lol! will do!

Sadly not.

Pretty sure most local places will not do the repair, but its worth a google of alloy wheel repair near you, even if the wheel is cracked it can still be repaired, if the tyre isn't deflating chances are that it isn't cracked and just dented.

Have you thought about buying a 16inch VAG/OEM alloy with 205-45 16 tyre to get through the MOT until you find an Atria. Then use as a full size spare when you fit an Atria.

You need VAG/OEM as the bolts are tapers if aftermarket, not radius.
