Rusty sills

Featured Replies

Took my vrs into Glasgow Skoda today to see if i was able to claim my warranty for the rust on the sills.the guy took pictures and is sending them away to the claim dept as corrosion. Anyone else had any dealings with Glasgow Skoda? Im crossing my fingers they will fix/ paint under warranty.

Not had dealings with them but in same boat as you with my sills, rust bubbling from the inside out, annoys the **** out of me as trying to get it to look spot on but have no faith in Skoda in Nottingham where i purchased it from.

i was told wont get nothing from mine as due to stone chips even though it has mud flaps on @ bickerton (Sheffield). but to be fair i dont think they even sent the claim off anyway as i heard nowt from them either way

Mine are the same too towards the rear of the sill

..has anyone got anywhere with any of these claims? Iv just noticed some bubbles with unbroken paint so want to act fast if there is any chance of anything - especially with winter coming!

Cheers

My car is currently having a new boot lid and rear driver wheel arch done under warranty. My car is a 54reg and just under 100,000 miles it's been nearly 3weeks since I dropped it off.

mine is currently having a new drivers door due to paint bubbling along the bottom .....

You can get much better cavity waxes than Waxoyl, its way too thick even warmed up/thinned down.

Look at Bilt Hamber products or Dinitrol :)

I'm going to expoxy mastic on mine, although they are not rusty. http://www.rust.co.uk gives good advice for treating rust.

Waxole if applied with a compressor seems to cover well. No thinning and no warming. The probe they supply with a nail in the end is pants though.
