Good Reason to buy MK3 VRS

Recommended Posts

If you want to move on to a mk3 VRS...

APR remap, stage 1: 320bhp! TUV approved figures.

I think Shark are getting similar results.

Stage 2 map, +downpipe and intake: 344bhp.

I reckon the 220ps unit is just fairly detuned for power given its otherwise fairly large standard torque peak and probably does not massively differ to the unit used in the Cupra 265/280.

Standard turbo and HPFP are obviously capable of dealing with a fair bit more boost and fuel pressure than in standard form.

Expect the 300ps S3/Golf R unit will have a different turbo and maybe slightly bigger injectors, dont know as havent really looked into it but if it were not able to make 340-360ps after a map I'd be surprised as its again probably not overly stressed at its 300ps standard output.

S3 and mk7 R's are getting about 370bhp stage 1!

Torque steer could be an issue, not sure how the electronic diff copes. The PP package on the Golf would see it right though.

But you could always throw 1.5k down for a fitted LSD.
