The Des WInks VW showroom in Eastfield, Scarborough (near Morrisons) is opening a Skoda dealership on the same site, and according to the poster I drove past this morning, they are already open for servicing.

 

At least I won't have to trek all the way to York for servicing now! :-)

They are not listed on Skoda UK's site as yet but it is good news to see a new dealership opening.

Oooo!  Right on my doorstep, might this tempt me back into the fold? 

I sent an email to them this morning suggesting that they make themselves known on here as there's a good market for people who want dealer servicing but aren't impressed by the DM Keith monopoly around this area.

 

Remarkably, I got a reply within an hour or so. The Sales Manager for Skoda there is called Andy Veitch. He says that they are building a new showroom for the Skoda side of the business which they hope will be up and running by the year end. He has confirmed that they are fully authorised by Skoda for service AND warranty work.

 

They are having a think about joining Briskoda and promise a good service.

All SKODA UK Approved Dealerships are supposed to have a mission to provide Service & Warranty work to a high standard.

A High Quality of Customer Services as well.

 

'Skoda UK HQ Customer Services' do not always provide good Customer Services so expecting them to make sure Authorised Dealers do is 

a lot to expect.

 

Lets hope this new Dealership provides a great service because they are Competent & Care about Customers 

& getting repeat customers.

Well, to be fair, Des Winks are a family-owned business that's been running for 35 years or so, so they must be doing something right. I have high hopes for them.

I'm thinking the same.

 

DM Keith have be ok... but a couple of annoyances like crap cleaning inside the car and mud left behind and also taking 8 weeks to fit a new ignition switch because they broke the ignition barrel!

 

Not planning on using main delears too much but probably will for my DSG oil change as their fixed price is pretty competetive and hopefully done properly too.

Used Winks to service a Glof V we had in 2008/09; seemed pretty good at the time and we will more than likely go back now they are authorised for Skoda, save the drive into Lincolnshire to avoid Keith's.
