New car day!

New car day!

Pick up the Accord today.

I'm actually sad to see the VRS go. I've never really given a toss when trading in cars but the VRS was my first ever (probably last ever) brand new car.

I'll miss the fairly brutal acceleration, reliability, many of the clever little touches (ticket holder especially) but not the crashy suspension, road noise, dodgy paint on the sills or the annual wallet theft by the DVLA.

It's not being sold by the dealer and I don't know what plate is going on it after I swap mine over so I won't be able to track this one like my old cars.

So bye bye Octy 'tis been good while it lasted.

Accord looks nice mate. How does it compare? What engines in that? 2.2 diesel or something?

Is it actually silver? Looks a little pink on my phone screen haha.

Enjoy your new motor.  Looks nice

Hope you'll stay around.  I for one appreciate, and have learned massively from, your input to Brisky.

Enjoy your new car. Do us all a favour and feedback on how it compares.

That looks very nice.  The Honda we traded in a couple of months or so ago was a lovely piece of engineering, really well screwed together.  The 2.2 diesel is one of the best I've driven and compared to some of the offerings from other manufacturers it's very refined.  Hope you enjoy it and get used to it poking out the end of parking spaces - it's a long car!

I reckon hes already over compensating for that. He thought he was parking in the carpark in that photo yanno ;).

Chalk and cheese with the VRS.

It is the 2.2 DTECH engine, 150hp. Once upon a time that would have been loads but these days it looks a bit weedy. I doubt I'd be much impressed by any motor short of 300hp these days.

Very quiet very smooth. It does feel very well screwed together. I wouldn't say the materials on the inside are much better than the VRS but maybe put together with a bit more care. It's done 50k but feels very fresh. In fairness the VRS was in a good state at 50k as well.

Controls are a mess on the inside that'll just take time to get the hang of.

Performance wise it doesn't feel very fast at all but I think it is reasonably 'brisk'. I drove a 330d previously and didn't think it felt fast either. I think it's more down to the way the VRS delivers it's power and the harsher chassis.

I like a big car ;-)

Going to have to have a bit of a garage clear out to get it in.

It is silver with a little hint of beige platinum, well it is a Honda after all.

Extended the approved used warranty to 3yr for £300 which I was happy to pay. Means the cars is mostly cover for the whole time I'm paying the loan.

I've agreed to hang around and continue spouting BS. I might be back to the fold one day. I didn't want another Mk2 and the Mk3 was too expensive. Looked at Superb estates but again I think they're overpriced 2nd hand. Could get an A6 for similar money.

Good things.

Mentioned the front disks on the test drive that they looked a bit done and today the car had new front disks and pads.

Half tank of diesel, more than the test drive.

Flowers for the missus

Missing tonneau cover back in place

56mpg on the first run when I'd expect about 33 from the VRS, Showing 700mi from a full tank.

Electric folding windows that I didn't notice before, not auto though.

Car had been superguarded at new.

Oh so quiet. Not much road noise, not a knock or rattle to be heard.

Not so good things

Wheel alignment is out, pulling to the left, should be easy sorted I'll phone dealer tomorrow.

A few more scratches on the car than I'd noticed but then it's 4yr old and not everyone keeps a car like me. Certainly has been looked after but not by an OCD pedant like me. Out with the polish soon.

Daft valeter polished the feckin steering wheel.

Doesn't go like a VRS :'(  I'm going to miss that.

VRS will probably go to their 2nd hand site at http://cityquaycars.co.uk/ so I'll be able to keep an eye out for it.
