Tyreshopper tyres

Looking for new tyres and not sure what's the best to go for.

Seen these Avon ZZ5 XL which works out at £95 each fitted http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/tyres/brand/avon/avon-zz5-xl/225-40YR18-92Y-xl

Bridgestone S0001 XL at £107 each http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/tyres/brand/bridgestone/bridgestone-s001-xl/225-40YR18-92Y-xl

and Dunlop Sport Maxx RT XL at £107 each too http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/tyres/brand/dunlop/dunlop-sport-maxx-rt-xl/225-40YR18-92Y-xl

On their tyre labels the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT XL have the best rating for emisions, noise and wet grip.

I then seen these Pirelli P Zero tyres for the same price but their emisions rating was F as aposed to Dunlops C, they are also a lower rating on wet grip and louder.

Why would you buy the likes of the Pirelli at the same price if they are lower on the tyre labels or is there more to buying tyres than that?

Not sure if it's of help but our Monte was supplied new with Sport Maxx tyres (not the RT version) and unfortunately turned out to be one of a number of MC's with the pull left syndrome.

Skoda's answer was to 'throw away' the Dunlop tyres and replace them with P Zero Nero's, which seem a better tyre grip wise and we've not noticed any change in economy, oh the car also drives much straighter now too.

What do people think about the Goodyear efficient grip? Can get them fitted for £110 each through Blackcircles.

Still got the original sport contacts on from new so not wanting anything worse. Also it needs to be fairly decent at not wearing too quick!

My Dad recently put Goodyears on his Yeti and loves 'em. Says they're nice and quiet, give great grip and haven't affected economy.

Personally, I would get these Goodyears instead. Love them on my vRS, highly recommended. More grip orientated than the others. Especially as you have 250ish bhp.

I would need a garage to fit them though. Could the likes of National Tyres supply new innertubes and balance them for a little more?

The wifes Fabia MKII Vrs came with Dunlop Sport Maxx Tyres 205/40/17 and they were pants, however hard you tried you could not get them warm. Tip Toe'd around in the wet.  Utter Rubish ( my opinion )

There will be plenty of independent garages that would fit them for you for a small fee, £10 a tyre or so. Also, its worth ringing around the independents as I've found that they can be very competitive and once fitted, similar to web prices.

Tyre wise though, the Asymmetries are brilliant. I would always buy them or similar such as the Contisport 5 etc.

Do you have the option of Yokohama BluEarth? I'm currently running them on my soon to go Vauxhall Astra mk5. I've been quite impressed with them, marvellous grip even in the wet... Better then some old firestone's I was using once which suffered from aquaplaning and once caused me the car to do a 180* spin while driving through a puddle with myself and some buddies from work inside of it... thankfully we were the only car on the road at the time.

Before you ask, the tyres were completely legitimate, weren't balding or anything else, I wasn't traveling at any chaotic speeds.

Got Uniroyal Rainsport 2's on the VRS - very good and reasonable price. My Dad has the RainSport 3''s and they are good too - I will get them the next time.
