Polishing Pads - CYC Diamond face type

Featured Replies

Hi all - i know many people have their preference on polishing pads supplier and types.

I have a vast array for different jobs, products and compounds.

Just wanted to know if any one had tested the CYC range - Pro Diamond face type.

Links below - £8.95 each but i've found a cheap source of these...and might order.

Only want to know if any one is using them.... and thoughts on them. Thanks.

Are these fairly new up on CYC mate?

First time I have seen them!

I didn't think so... As some are out of stock already.

Looks like a hidden gem in that section under the EP801, but not in the other section.

But I think they are rebranded Max Shine.

I have samples of them already.

I'd be interested in a deal for some pads as starting to run out of new ones now.  I have used similar style ones (from appearance only) in the past to the ones shown in #1 post.

How did you find them?

I've managed to acquire two test sets imported. One for myself and the other I've passed onto my mate Alan (blueR36).

Not sure when I'll get time to test them though.

+1. I have a polisher now, so I'm looking at what's best. I'm planning on using P1. Need a backing plate too.

I may be interested too

Keep us informed please

Thanks

Chris - Alan has my first test order....

5 x Diamond face pads individually sealed.

Foam grade T80, T60, T40, T20, T10.

Are they designed for a Rotary ........or DA use?

As per the original post.... Sold in conjunction with the CYC EP rotary, but perform ok on the DA too... So far. :)

As I thought....DA use can damage them a little quicker...vibrations and all that

I always reckon on a fairly robust pad if using a DA...I'll consult with Alan and see how he gets on with them

Thanks

Of course.... Hence why I gave them to Alan to test! LOL

He is the perfect tester given the number of pads he has destroyed recently... LOL

I have suppliers for both DA and rotary pad options sorted now anyways. :)

Anyone using Flexipads PRO-DETAIL 5.5" pads? Currently using the CYC diamond face pads, as per the thread title;

but have been offered the flexipads on a group buy...either 5 for £33 or 10 for £60 delivered.

Interested in some feedback from anyone using this type....

Thanks.

I've used the flexi pads, they are similar to CG Hexlogic. I'm not keen on them. They are a little too soft IMO. But that's just my preference. I suppose if you used& like Hexlogic then you will find these ok.

Thanks for the comment mate. At the price - i think i might test them out... Dean has offered a good deal.

I could get enough to share with anyone on here who might be interested - i'll ask Alan etc.

I dont do enough full correction details to warrant the expense really, but i enjoy testing products....

I mean if you were running a business - you should be using quality kit like these or CG or Lake Country etc - IMO

In saying that - i've only ever had one pad disintegrate on me and that was a CG Hex.... so who knows.

I get 2 x 6" pads for £5 at the moment..... and they perform well, survive the washing machine, and are ideal for my light polishing/cleansing duties.

Agree, never skimp on pads. At the end of the day you need quality pads. Makes me laugh when I see people using pads that are falling to bits. Might give these a try, thanks.

Totally agree Bob!

I've found a couple of cheap suppliers from China; if you ever fancy testing a pad sample - just give me a shout.

Happy to exchange for a sample of something you might recommend or whatever - as i'm not trading/selling.

I wasn't organising a group buy or a sale at all mate - perhaps you misread my intentions.

A few of the guys have recently offered me a small freebie sample of new products to test - such as Wax, QD, etc.

My previous post was to say i can swap for a sample of the said polishing pads perhaps.

I discussed with Alan last night and will re-order the Diamond Pro pads in the compounds we are using;

So will have more arriving soon. I was just asking Bob if he was interested - as per the thread above.

Not a problem

Just thought you might be interested

So ......Freedom membership?

Thanks for that, I may take you up on this as I only have about a dozen pads & it looks like i'm on for a 3 day detail in the very near future with a 2 maybe 3 stage polish on a mates Audi estate. Not something you can do properly in just a few hours so I may need a few pads.

Wow - sounds like you have a decent setup there mate.

3 stage on VAG paint, and an estate - that will take a decent amount of time and effort.

Have you got access to indoor detailing space for such a job? I hope so.

My purchases and recommendations are only personal use - but i wouldn't recommend them if they were not tried and tested!

Just let me know. Sounds like you might even need some help to get that detail done in a weekend.

Good luck! Looking forward to seeing your work...

Thanks, yes I have the use of a double garage. 3 days should get it done as it's not one of the worst cars I have done. It's already had the wheels off and sealed so that saves a lot of time.
