Door lock ?

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a problem on my 2002 Octavia estate when i unlock the car it will re lock if i am not quick, also the lights on buzzer doesnt work, or the light in the door and the symbol of an open door dosent come on the dash for the drivers door.

So i bought a new replacement lock assembly

I have just fitted it and it has made no difference !

I cant think what else it could be maybe a break in the wiring ? It all used to work fine.

I am sur i fitted it right as the central locking is working the door mechanism fine. ?????

Not helpful advice but mines also done this since having it, same symptoms as yours just not got round to diagnosing it.

Control unit inside drivers door is the place to start looking. Check its not wet & rusted on the pins

I guess you mean the lock assemblys electronic part ? If so it was perfectly dry and no corrossion. ?

The control unit is part of the electric window motor,I had a fault with one of my rear doors, was a broken wire between the body and the door.

Check the wiring for breaks where it enters the door, & the large multi connector in the drivers door for corrosion & broken pins.

I know its an electric window motor but its the module on the side i am asking about is that the controler as suggested by Dewaryboy ?

Not sure on that. On inspection it's different to other VAG regultors I've seen so maybe that is the controller module attached. Hopefully someone will be able to confirm. I'd stll be having a good look at the wiring into the door as it's a known problem area.
