Octy -vrs- Superb

Although the Audi option looks good on the face of it, it's very easy to overlook the cost of getting it speced up from the options list.....to get it to Superb L&K spec will be eye wateringly expensive.

That's true, Audi does offer a vast (and expensive) options list, but strangely there are a few options you'd need to specify on the L&K that are standard on the A6 (keyless entry, hill hold, temporary spare).

The other decision is how many of the standard L&K bits of standard kit would you sacrifice in order to get a V6 diesel and 4 wheel drive in an A6, along with the higher quality cabin, etc.? Even then, the price difference at DtD is still going to be in the region of £6K plus (depending on options), though on PCP the difference might narrow a bit depending on residual value.

Popped in to Audi on the way home today, just out of interest as I was going past.

Have to say, I really like the look of the A6 AllRoad.

Good cars mate back when I did my work experience in an Audi workshop a couple of years back we had such a difference of models but the A6 was a lovely car! Was pretty surprised at the claimed mpg on the screen at the time as well!

The boot "headroom" is practically not existant as it's got a really sloping tailgate.  It's not as steep as a Fabia hatchback.

I'll wait until Mike sees this and see if we get offered a good discount... ;)

I was lucky as at the time I was only 5ft7 hehe :notme:

Don't forget Carwow, some nice deals on there.

I used them to haggle down the cost on the Fiesta. :)

I just had a peek on broadspeed and drive the deal and I am flabergasted at  the amount of discounts flying around on premium cars.

£10,000(ish) off the mid power Audi A6 diesel 4x4 allroad.

Yep, there are some good deals around, we do our best deals on Carwow.

Wow so what's that going to bring it down to roughly?

£45k -> £35k for the 245bhp A6 Allroad.  S tronic, 4x4 and 3.0 diesel.

We have the 245hp Allroad and that engine is very nice (soon to be uprated to about 258 from 245hp), plus you get the adaptive air suspension to smooth out the bumps.

Useful 2500 kg towing capacity too, but it's easy to push up the price with options (we added about £5k's worth and barely touched the surface, so to speak). Still at least you get the 21 to 24% discount off the options as well!

They're also quite rare as most people spending that kind of money would rather sit up high in a conventional Chelsea tractor. Personally we preferred the Allroad over a similar engined Toureg which was about the same price. Toureg was nice to drive, but the A6 drove even better and had a much nicer interior.

I've got to say Audi is growing on me especially today where I picked up and drove the S5 that my boss has just purchased! Luxurious then when the right foot went down a bit further it went very well! The Quattro system seemed very impressive! I know it's not. The same car but if it's anything like the one I drove today I'd recommend it whole heartedly! amu3yvyv.jpg

Audi A6 Allroad?

In this day and age who really needs a 3.0 litre to take the kids to school and the dog to the park?

Skoda Superb Outdoor 2.0 TDi CR170 DSG 4x4 is all the car they'll ever need and more...

Well, if it was me, and i did a lot of miles, id be thankful of the 3.0tdi. Yeah 170hp is a nice amount, but an extra 80 would make you smile more.

Adaptive cruise control ?

Adaptive cruise control ?

On what?

On what?

Anything really that has a Skoda badge.

I can only find it on the Octy L&K. :(

I know it's a shame really I was having a play in the Audi on it today very impressed! Could drive the car off it! I just clicked it up as I came out of the long stretch out of town!

So. What exactly is adaptive cruise?

From the web:

Adaptive Cruise Control or ACC is an advanced type of cruise control system and is the most widely used one. The system is capable of adjusting the speed of the vehicle depending on various factors influencing it. In simple language, if your car’s cruise control is set to a speed of 80 KMPH and the car in front of you is going slower than 80 KMPH, your car will slow down automatically to maintain a safe distance from car in front of you. Once the car in front goes 80 KMPH or faster or gets out of the way, the cruise control system again speeds up to initially set 80 KMPH without any manual intervention ! Isn’t it useful for a long highway journey.

Cruise control that maintains a safe distance to the car in front, it slows and speeds up (up to the limit you set) rather than the traditional system which you'd have to keep switching on/off or changing the speed up/down.
