New Octavia Scout 4x4 vs F/L Yeti L&K 4x4

Featured Replies

My wife has 2013MY Yeti 2.0 TDI 110 Adventure 2WD. It's so good, in fact I'm thinking of getting one for myself, when my car lease ends in December. The 170 TDI 4x4 DSG L&K looks very well equipped for the money.

However the new 2014 Octavia Scout his also on my wish list - although pricing hasn't been announced.. But as i lease my cars, leasing costs are largely dependent on depreciation. So a quick question for Skoda experts on here. Which has the better depreciation? Yeti 4x4 or Octavia Scout? I know the normal Octavia's are worse than the Yeti's. But is that the case for the Octavia Scout? Looking at used prices, Octavia Scouts seem to hold their value very well at the moment.

Can't answer your question in detail, but why have 2 Yetis?

The HUGE boot in the Octy Scout would give you a different option when taking trips away?

Best of both worlds - Yeti and Octy in the family?

Good luck choosing!

Cheers Dunc69. I totally agree, if it wasn't for the fact that the lease rates on a Yeti are so tempting, to get even a Octy L&K 150 TDI 2wd DSG estate (not Scout) is around £100 pm more than a Yeti L7K 170 TDI 4WD DSG. So i was really hoping the Scout would be slightly more affordable.

I love our Yeti, but yes ordinarily i would not consider getting 2 of the same car.. shows how good they are to even consider it.

Anyone got an technical info on the Scout yet?

I had a Mk2 FL Scout, and I'd have another in a heartbeat  - just the damn emmisions make it unaffordable to run as a company car - 184 engine though - like the sound of that!!

I'm sure any vRS Tdi owners would testify that the 184 will give it more than enough grunt!

I like it.

seen this today reported in Australia - apparently hitting the showrooms in August!! Not sure how true it is, as i can't see it anywhere on the car configurations on the czech or german skoda site.

http://www.themotorreport.com.au/59327/2015-skoda-octavia-scout-august-for-europe-australia-next-year

"Engine options will include a pair of diesel units and one petrol engine, including a 110kW 2.0 litre TDI and 132kW 1.8 litre TSI engine.

Scout buyers will also have the option of a 135kW 2.0 TDI diesel combined with a six-speed DSG auto - the first time this combination has appeared in a Skoda."

In terms of how it will be able to use its power, it would be my preference over a fwd 185ps Octy any day. Apart from the aesthetics of the front and rear silver 'guards' - i'm totally convinced and if I was buying now it'd probably be my preference over the Yeti. :)
