I have strange problem with my Fabia 1.9 SDI Combi Comfort 2002: when shift into reverse gear there is power cut and everything stops, no lights on dashboard except for the front lights. This happens when car is ambientally heated, left on direct sunlight, otherwise is ok. Sometimes I'm getting stuck when I had to shift into reverse and the car stops after placing lever into reverse position. I'm suspecting gearbox oil level, however that power cut is very strange also. Does anyone had this issue before?

Just to inform you how the things were developing with this problem.

I've noticed that power sterring lamp and air bag lamp are remaining on after after switching the key on and it was taking a minute or two before going off. During this time I was unable to start the engine and after start up power steering was off for 10-15 seconds. This time was getting longer each day and today I went to the local garage.

The guy was very quick and found that ignition switch (Part No: 4B0 905 849) was causing messy signals to the control unit and this one was displaying that something is wrong with servo unit and reverse gear lamp switch.
