Help with PAS light after steering pump replacement.

Hi all,

I have replaced steering pump on my wife's 2004 1.2 12v Fabia estate with a second hand pump from a 2001 Fabia, power steering now working well but need to reset the light.

New to diagnostics and wondering what is best option and if pump will require coding even tho its working fine or is it just a matter of clearing fault codes? 

If I need to code the pump can the handheld scanners (e.g. VAG405 VW scanner) or the free version of VCDS lite (and a cheap cable) achieve this, as   Ross - Tech products are too expensive for us at the moment.

We are staying in South Norwood, near Croydon so if anyone has full VCDS or registered lite and could help me out would be very gratefully appreciated, currently car has no MOT as I have brought and repaired it, so cannot drive it on the road atm and the PAS light is preventing me from going for MOT!
