O2 sensors

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how many O2 sensors the Octy has and what the part numbers are?

Also, has anyone ever attempted to replace them? Mine need doing (and have done for a long time) but I've been told it can be a nightmare job, as sometimes part of the old ones can snap of when you try to remove them.

Thanks as always ;)

You will have two sensors, the front one being a 5 wire wideband sensor, and the back one a normal 4 wire.

They are both easy enough to get to (under the car). As long as the threads don't pick up, and you don't go mad with them, you shouldn't have too much to worry about.

When I fitted my decat, mine came out easy.

Can;t help you with part numbers though

Try 021906262B for the front sensor, and 021906262C for the rear sensor

I tried to do mine with an adjustable spanner and found it very hard to shift them, kept slipping off. Borrowed my mate's open ended 22mm spanner and it was a doddle.

Or you could get a 22mm slotted socket.

Ouch! I bought a Bosch one from Ebay for about 35 quid when I changed mine. I was about five years ago. Turned out not to be faulty so I have a spare now :D

I'd be inclined to go for a genuine Bosch item, ECP list them for about £70

Why doc you need to replace both? The rear sensor is only to make sure the CAT is working correctly and shouldn't affect the running of the car

If I'm guessing right, the front pre cat one has only done about 10k too.

Good guess!  You're good at this!
