Boost problem (not another one)

I'm sure this is a fairly easy fix (i hope).

When in first gear it will only boost to 2k rpms. When you get to this point it feels as thought you have hit a brick wall, change into second no hesitation what so ever nor is there hesitation in any other gear.

The only thing i can really think of is the cam positing sensor?

Has anyone else had this problem??
