I so love travelling, San Francisco is on my list but not been yet, got back from Toronto, New York and Niagra recently, Def reccomend to anyone.

My Sister is an air hostess so apart from when I go driving round europe, I get to fly round the rest of the world with her for peanuts! :D:D:thumbup:

It is a lovely place. It's the most beautiful city I've ever seen! The surrounding areas are nice as well (Muir Woods, Yosemite Park, Lake Tahoe, etc).

We spent most of our time just walking around the different areas.

There are so many different things dotted around.

We were staying with the missus's brother & girlfriend (& 6 month old Jakob!). There place is near a place called Haight Ashbury which is a kind of "Hippy" area with loads of unique shops, cafes & bars.

Quite close by is the Golden Gate Park with the Japanese Tea Gardens, a Conservatory of Flowers, Stow Lake & Buffalo!

Down Town, which was a 10 min underground ride, was where all the big shops were. The clothes are pretty cheap & we could have brought back 3 times as much!

Fisherman's Wharf & Pier 39 is a bit touristy but is worth a look, even if it's just to see all the seafood restuarants laid out on the sea front.

Further down the coast is Monterey Bay, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach & Carmel. This is where the money is. The average house price was 10 million dollars!! There was one for sale @ 32 million!!

Nice piccies..That fish looks how I feel today...

Given relatives already living there, did you get the urge "the grass being greener" and all that?

Sounds tempting, but don't know about earnings that would get a $32Mill mortgage though (perhaps a little overtime?)

Relatives rent an apartment & isn't cheap but I think earnings are above average. Cost of living is fairly cheap though.

The houses around Pebble Beach & Pacific Grove are owned by celebs or millionaires & are rarely occupied!

I dunno, although it was a beautiful place, I couldn't really see myself living in SF.
