What are your plans for the stereo surround?

The stereo is an on going situation, due to this being a canbus radio and the car being non canbus, also the gap is too small even with the cubby hole missing, you would have to reposition the heater controls . I may put a non canbus double din radio in yet, I also have future Plans for another vehicle which this radio would definitely fit into.......

car looks brilliant, keep up the good work

have you thought of moving this thread to the 'what have you done to your vrs today' thread?

#radioman, I wouldn't know how to do it........ Btw, I've been touching up all the stone chips on the bonnet today, on Saturday I'm going to replace the sai pump (. Usual mooing sound ) replace all the brake fluid , and regas the aircon. Oh and I ordered a new maf sensor today, better be safe than sorry....... Going up to Scotland in it at the end of the month....

Thought of removing just the octavia badge off the back and keeping the vrs one there ? And what about painting the grill black ?

I'm really glad to see the old motor being cared for so well, I had the dreams but not the time.

Keep the Octavia badge!

Now stick a good remap on it! ;)

I want to keep it standard looking, so all the badges are staying....

It's certainly being pampered!

Keep up the good work, looks amazing.

Yes! Remove the Octavia badge. It's a bloody awful font! I removed but retained the VRS. Looks good!

Fireblade I'll say one thing for, when you start on a car you go the whole hog, will there be any part of it not renewed, reconditioned or upgraded by the time you've finished.

#1radioman, I like the standard look of the vrs but when a car is 10 years old it will need some love , the problem at the moment is to keep the engine standard, a previous car of mine ( which I still miss ) was a mk2 Leon cupra uprated to 350bhp.... You can see my dilemma .......

Noway, thats its charm.

A good stage 1 remap is worth it, rear anti roll bar and thats enough.  Its all Ive done.

My Y reg mk1 looks bog standard, that's because it is except for a quick shift and a remap, the remap gives 225bhp and 221 nm's so it pulls quite well, but if I had previously had 350bhp then I too would have the same dilemma.  But my true dilemma is only having a disability pension to live on so even if I could afford the bits I couldn't fit them, oh well life's a bitch and then you crash into one ! lol :rain:

I can see this dilemma well.

Coming from a fettle'd Subaru the VRS performance is lacking , but i new this and the VRS ticks many other boxes.

3 remaps later and a lot of bolt on performance mods it still is fun and has lost that std look a long time ago. I am more about taking the car through phases of change.

Would love to go Hybrid but lately thinking  maybe a better base to would be to move to a 4x4 chassis. S3 maybe on the cards for me.

S3 is the same engine in the cupra, all you need to do is apr hpfp, 3inch exhaust and race cat , Apr map and an intake and that gives you 380 bhp on 98ron fuel.......

Yep which is why I am thinking a S3 is a good base to start, already has the 4x4 chassis plus the stronger engine. Hmm

A couple of pictures gertie might appreciate..... Replaced the rear spoiler because the paint/laquer was coming off with an original one off eBay , and also fitted genuine vag number plate led units, a real pita but got there in the end....ubyra8am.jpgy5asahup.jpgahupa8ar.jpgequzupyn.jpg
