which 4 pot calipers ?

Featured Replies

Ok guys I am looking at brembo calipers but, I really don't want to go bigger than 16" on the rally car at the mo, I'm quite happy with 288mm disks but what calipers do I need to be searching for to fit on them?

cheers

their was a thread last week or something about a company who have made a wilwood 4 pot caliper kit for the Fabia to fit over the standard 288 discs

There was a bloke on here with Brembos on 312mm discs because I fancied them for 16" wheels but got 17" now and would like bigger brakes!

Yea I have had Wilwoods in the past but couldn't believe how much flex they had, would rather something designed to last 100k on a fast road car and still work.

What size disk do the brembo's usually use then? I am able to machine brackets etc to bring them closer on a smaller disk if it works out.

They usually use 323mm discs.

so would cope easily enough on a 288 then, hmmm I wonder if the std vrs rims will clear them?

Isn't it jackclap who put Alfa Brembo's with 312's?

He just had some brackets made up iirc.

Might not be jackclap :D

Could you use the Porsche brembos? Still use 312 discs. Group1rs (Pete) has them on his octy

Calm down dear!!

yes flex they may be better now as this was 6 years ago or so but when someone was pressing the pedal you could see the actual caliper flexing away from the disk, the 100k comment was more aimed at me preferring to use something that the car manufactures deemed to last 100k or so without mega maintenance hence dust seals etc, as mine are going on a rally car I want and need the best I can get on my budget.

Which wilwoods have you got on 288's?  IF they have improved the build I may be tempted depending on what and how

What about pb brakes?
