Door lock differences (3B1837015AQ/3B1837015AM) ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

I recently had a little situation with my window elevator in driver seat. Even though I had ordered the actual replacement job from a garage, I tried to help them ½ way by dismantling everything, and like everyone else I got stuck on the connector to the lock, I mean trying to loosen it from the clip without removing the actual lock beforehand. Now, I gave up and when the garage had changed my window elevator I receieved bad news; while aggresivly pulling/pushing/turning the connector I had somehow whacked the microswitch, so now the central lock doesn't work for my driver seat.

Now, since a new lock is pretty expensive, I tried the second-hand-market, and a couple of days ago I got lucky, and order one. Today, I picked it up at my post office. Now, to my anxious part. My Skoda dealer looked up my plate and told me that the part I needed was "3B1837015AQ", and my used item right in front of me here has OEM # 3B1837015AM, in other words a slight difference.

I haven't dismanted everything yet (bad weather), so I haven't got a look on whether these two parts differ psychically, or if it's just e.g. some sort of "revision" change whilst actually the same OEM part. Since many second-hand sellers seem to put BOTH of these part codes in their description, I'm starting to thing that it is actually going to be just fine.

I just thought I'd ask you guys, I mean if anyone knows exactly what and if there is a difference?

Cheers!

The letter at the end 'M' is a slightly older revision than the 'Q' same part just slightly older. So the part with a 'Q' is the latest part revision out. Hope this helps

Big thanks!

Actually, I changed lock yesterday and found out that my old lock was in fact also the — slightly older — 'M' part. It worked out nicely. Again, many thanks.
