Cooling fans Issue.

Featured Replies

2007 Skoda Octaiva 1.9 TDI 120000 miles.

Hi everyone.

Just noticed that my cooling fans are running while engine is running, even when i'm not stuck in traffic, when I stop at a junction I can hear them running.

The do turn off when i switch of engine, and they do seem to stop and start.

I know this is probably perfectly normal at its fairly warm today 22 deg C, just I never noticed this happen before even in the very very hot summer of last year.

I just thought it a bit odd as car is moving with very few stops... 30-50 MPH, If i was stuck in traffic for ages I would understand it.

I did search for other threads, but all I could find was cooling fans on and staying on even when engine is cold.

Many thanks for any Input.

if you have the AC switched on, or climatronic not in Econ mode then the fans will run more or less all the time regardless of engine temp.

Funny you should mention AC, as I did switch it on , but soon found out it was not working ! so turned it off.. not long after i noticed this issue.
