CHIPEX Touch Up

Featured Replies

Am thinking of getting this to fix a couple of stone chips on my bonnet.  Anyone any experience of using this product please and if so, what do you think of the results?

What Colour of Car?

Maybe save yourself money.  Personally i do not like CHIPEX .

Get the Paint Code and have Touch Up paint mixed at your Local Motor Factors.

(It is in the Boot on the Sticker.)

Or a Touch up at a Skoda Dealership or Halfords Pen Pack if they do / mix your Colour.

If you don't go down tbe chipex route you'll find the touch up kit from tne dealers will not only be a perfect match, but will be cheaper than the likes of Halfords too. Halfords mixed me some race blue on site. Not only was it expensive, but it didn't match either!

100 ml mixed to your paint code should be around about £8

If your car paint is fresh and newish, if you buy paint and shake it well and it does not match the Paint,

then return it, to the Dealer or Halfords or who ever.

Tell them to try again, but try better.

(I was a car Sprayer.)

Thanks for the replies.

I am more interested in whether the Chipex solution actually works rather than the colour match.  Looking at their promotional video, it seems easy enough to build the paint finish up and remove the excess paint.  Does anyone have any experience of touching up using this method on their cars please?

Chipex is OK, but the shelf life is really short. You need to use it straightaway.
