Getting off on the right foot with Moon White Colour....

Featured Replies

New Octy Elegance in Moon White arriving in a week.

Its my first new car and I want to make sure I get of on the right foot with the paint care regime.

After much research through the many helpful topics on here I think I have a good idea about what to do, but just want to double check and make sure I have things in the right order.

Day One:

Snow Foam

Rinse

Shampoo

Rinse

PoorBoys White Diamond

Let it settle for 2 hours

Finish with PoorBoys EX-P Sealant

Then every couple of weeks or so:

Snow Foam - Rinse - Shampoo - Rinse - Sonax Extreme BSD

Every 6 months:

Foam - Rinse - Shampoo - Rinse - White Diamond - EX-P Sealant

Any suggestions, tweaks or cautions would be gratefully accepted.

Sounds good to me, id give it a clay first off too. Your be surprised how much it will pull off the car and then your be 100% sure the car is contaminant free.

I recommend Bilt Hamber soft, £11 and use water as lube. Spilt the bar into 4 and do it once a year, to keep it tip top.

You need to de-tar and de-iron too. Look for a product called Trix. Does both of them

My first step (from now on) is to tell the dealer not to "prepare" the car...leave it to me. Some dealers' valeters can make a terrible mess of your new car. This is personal experience from last year....my new Citigo was delivered with every bit of paintwork covered in scratches...all of it...everywhere! I rejected the car and after some "discussion" with the Sales Manager, he agreed that it was unsatisfactory and ordered a new car. I had an eleven week wait, during which I continued to use the original. When the new one arrived, it was prepared by a mobile valeter who did a fantastic job...and extras that I ordered on the second car weren't charged for. So there was a happy ending eventually.

So...you either tell the dealer not to prepare your car...or, you examine the paintwork very carefully in good light when it is dry. And....the best of luck!
