Need a bit of help with this as meddling with computers isn't really my thing.

How do I increase the maximum registry size (windows 2000 pro)? I get a message flashing up on startup claiming the maximum registry size is too small and to increase it. It says use Help for more info. I can't find any.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yup.. its in system settings on the same page as pagefile settings

Do you know *why* the registry is so large? Just curious...

Personally i have no idea why it is so large. What i do know is that little tip just sorted the very annoying error message that was popping up. Dr Zoidberg you are a genius.

The registry is so big because it contains everything to do with your OS applications and settings.

Registry can be very large if you have a lot of users, a lot of programs, or just use windows for an extended period of time.

Every single component is registered in there. Quite a list
