CAN Gateway replacement issue

Featured Replies

Upgraded my CAN Gateway in my MK2 Octavia in preparation for a Bolereo, gateway is from a 13 Plate Passat it seems.. i can't seem to overwrite the workshop code, not sure if that's the issue?.

coded the can gateway with my installed modules

61-Battery Regul. shows a fault, even though not selected.. i enabled this and opened coding for this module and identified it had a start/stop coding and generator coded. removed all coding from this module and disabled the entry again.

Still getting the following entry when i scan the car:

                Address 61: Battery Regul.       Labels:
Control Module Part Number: 7N0 907 534
  Component and/or Version:
           Software Coding:
            Work Shop Code:
                      VCID: 55A167DFACF48DB6975
1 Fault Found:

02071 - Local Databus
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 01101100
                    Fault Priority: 2
                    Fault Frequency: 1
                    Reset counter: 52
                    Mileage: 142612 km
                    Time Indication: 0

Any ideas? :(

It seems odd it is scanning 61 when its not ticked. It possibly suggests the gateway is designed for newer cars...

You can try 123 12345 etc for workshop code but doubt its that.

It may still be fine, however. I have an error on 08 HVAC because my climatronic is too new for my gateway but it doesn't affect operations.

can't recode the workshop etc.

also. it seems that this battery regulator is a part of the CAN-Gatetway as it has the same part code + 4 :/

The gateway is for a car with Stop / Start so is not the correct one for your car.

it is ok, so just ignore the faults.

If you like a clean scan then you will have to change it for a suitable new one

Cool, thanks eddie :)

I've got an Audi gateway in mine and it shows the same error, but has caused no problems in the year or so I've had it fitted. Going to change it just to get closer to the fabled clean scan though.
