Fabia sump

Featured Replies

A clever monkey used an air gun to tighten the drain screw on my wife's Fabia. A replacement is as cheap as getting it repaired.

The question is which sump does she have? Her car is a 2001 Fabia Elegance Estate with an ATD Tdi engine. Does it have an oil level sensor? The car is away at the moment and I would like to fit it once she returns.

Cheers!

No oil sensor on the atd. Funnily my one is an atd with the same problem, im repairing it tomorrow taking the sump off and tapping it out and fitting a larger sumpbplug. Will also be cleaning out the oil pickup at the same time.

Thank you C3po. At £23 for a new sump I thought it would be easier to replace than repair. Is yours the base or higher powered model?

Regards, Peter

Mine is the pd100 comfort model. New sumps are cheap enough. I already have the tools to fix it so im going down that road.

Not sure this would apply as this was on my vRS but there are two bolts near the gearbox which will cause you a little trouble. Best use a wobble head socket to give you a little movement. We also had to trim a 10mm socket head down as it was slightly too long - prob just our size of heads.

HTH.

5mm ball head Allen key for the ones that sit beside the gearbox.
