GT4 - My B-spec driver is a numpty!

Featured Replies

I have been a bit stuck lately trying to do the proffessional Gran Turismo world cup, all of my best cars were left for dust (which i was surprised at because some of them rock!)

So i found a list on the internet of all the prize cars available and discovered that winning El Capitan 200 miles endurance gets you a very tasty Minolta Le Mans car.

I entered into the race hoping to alternate the driving between myself and b-spec.

Everytime my b-spec fella took over he was rubbish!! I don't know if its the odd layout of the track El Capitan but he just couldnt cope with some of the corners, even on 'reduced pace' it was cringe worthy. He (actually maybe it was a she ;) ) was 10 seconds per lap slower than me :(

Anyway i'm rambling but basically he lost me the lead so i made him pit and did the rest myself.

Won eventually!

66 laps of that track with a logitech wheel is knackering!

Do i have to train him loads to make him better, or are they always quite slow?

I found that B-spec was wildly inconsistent... Sometimes they are ace and others get caught out by the same 'tricky' bit of course each lap... without fail... :(

So much for A.I.!

As for training - I dont know... Soz

 SNAP!

Using the F1 car on that circuit de la sarthe, it would head down the long straight at 200mph, then suddenly put full lock, dive into the barrier, and run along it until it finally stopped, correct itself and start off again! Well odd!

But after a while and some practise I have found I am quicker than the best B spec pace. On long straights B spec does not use what I consider "top speed", i.e on circuit de la sarthe it charges down the main straight at about 205 whereas the tuned up Nissan Race car i use is capable of 250mph if using full throttle for the whole straight.

Oh, and the B spec driver is a mince when it comes to overtaking - no forceful attempts to overtake at all. :grumpy: This is why I tend to do long races initially on A spec, get a good lead, preferably one lap on 2nd place, then let the comp drive, assuming he/she can at least match the lap times of the others.

edit: I don't think training the B spec driver is an option at all. I guess its the ultimate incentive to use A spec all the while, but then 24 hours of constant driving is a little much, even for something as good as GT4. :D

The B spec driver gets better based on the number of A spec points you get. So enter a race that awards 250 A spec points should help things.

Just do the 24 hr nurburgring race - a decent sports car on B spec will win it OK, then you get a formula one car which is easily good enough to win most of the pro events.

As well as accelerating quicker than anything else, it stops as well too.

So, do you literally leave the playstation on for 24hours! I know you can speed it up, but then it just resets to normal speed at the pitstop :thumbdwn:

What car would you recommend using?

For the 24hr, you can use anything I think, so choose something set up for racing I say. Last time I think I used one of the touring cars. And yeah, you literally leave the thing on for 24hrs, start it one morning, leave overnight, voila wake up to
