Featured Replies

Does a mk1 fab vrs have the oil pick up pipe in the sump the same as the octy? Just wondered as the wifes is going in for a service tomorrow.

That seems like the only place where an oil pick up pipe is going to do its job.

Yeah, it's in the sump, held in place with two 10mm bolts iirc. Has a small o-ring behind it also.

Cheers mate. Spoke to skoda earlier and they said they don't need changing like my octy does but would do it for an extra £151!!!!!.

Well sump off. Clean around mating surfaces getting all oil and old sealant off. Has to be spotless. Then change oil pickup. Then aply new sealant and secure sump. Leave to set for x amount of time then add oil.

if you change your oil regularly and filter there shouldn't be any crap floating around your engine.

I took mine off to check at 90,000 and was spotless. My car has full service history if it matters to people.
