  • Well someone is buying these up anyway.   Were £70 a corner this morning with only 7 left on MyTyres and have shot back up to over £100 by this afternoon   Has anyone noticed there appear to be an

What rubber are you running on your ST now Sy?

New Octy vRS I am guessing with petrol lump? :)

Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2.  A fair few guys on the ST forums have changed to the sessanats and believe they are much better than the stock goodyears F1s though.

:)

Because i am a man, yes, it would be petrol   and also because stage 1 software putsthem at around 315hp!!  to get that in my ST i need a bigger turbo, full exhaust, intercooler and intake.  Cheaper to buy a newer car instead lol

So, coming back to the fold   B)

Sassantas will be my next daily rubber. I will see how RS-R's are performing on my track day set of wheels. If I keep changing tyres as often as I do It'd soon be cheaper to buy my own tyre fitting machine - £15 plus VAT per corner, the cheapest price I can find around here :(  :swear:

I used the RSR as a daily on the fabia lol

so do I , been using them all summer :)

Scrap that just bought a new mountuned fiesta ST2 lol.

on the tracktyre front alot of people seem to be raving about the Nankang NS-2R as a direct competitor to the 595RSR. Cheap as chips as well 225/40/18 in 120 soft compound £114 with free delivery

225/40/18 in 180 medium compound £108 with free delivery from trackfocus direct.

Errm, unless you are lucky enough to have 225/45/17 and go to Tyre Leader £75.........boom.

Been reading the same reviews Sy.

Ssssssshhhhhhh, you will push the price up!

225/45R17 is a standard for Barge?

Sadly they do not have the sizes for vRS :(  -  in any case, I was more than happy with RS-Rs at Blyton. 2015/40R17s had waay more grip than the car could take

Have you tried the NS2-Rs then? What do you think?

I've been reading reviews for possible use on my Octy, as the RS-R is now a bit more expensive.

Federal 595 RS-R tyres.

 My tyres went on the car in September 2013, since then I have done;

Oulton Park October 2013

Oulton Park February 2014

Barkston heath Spint event April 2014

Cadwell Park July 2014

Blyton Park August 2014

How Fast August 2014

I will be doing Oulton Park in November this year too.

I have only just swapped the fronts to the rear and the rears to the fronts, tread depth is still around 4mm on all four but the fronts (now the backs) have more wear on the edges from cornering,

My plan is to run these tyres well into next year to see how they last, grip is still good on them so I see no reason to swap them yet.

How are you getting on with yours?

I put mine on in April ready for the Combe action day, they did 2 sessions there, 1062 mile trip to the ring and back with 2 laps at the time, and then did another 16 sessions of combe, the fronts are dead (swapped them over once already, but both worn on the left half, from the centre out there is some tread left, they might be ok on the rear for some dry sessions next year).

The 2 rears are slightly feathered on the edges, but otherwise look untouched :D

mine ran about 8,000 miles on the front, when 2 mill tread in the centre and smooth on the edge they gripped fantastically! the rears are till about 5 mill now after about 10k , on a new set of fronts now, done a few thousand miles, to the ring, and two days aorund there (mostly wet) and they still look like new on the front... got this pair at £83 each... bloody bargin if you ask me! my winters will go on soon, and I will have 4 good tyres for next years track season!

I am full of praise for RS-R's even in full wet road conditions grip levels are surprisingly good.

I do not notice any wear yet as I done next to no mileage and only two track days on them :)

On the drying and dry track they are sensational. When you get the temp into them (when you touch the surface of the tyre it is almost scalding and gives impression of being melted) grip is way too much for my car to go beyond and they do not disintegrate at all like normal road tyres do.

For that price they are unparalleled.

Perhaps when my vRS pumps out 250 brakes (lol, like never) then I will have to look for some better rubber, but until then I am staying with RS-R's !

Ok maybe I won't get anymore from this even on the rear in the dry

Just spin them round and run the "wrong way" :D  Once the tread is that low I doubt it will matter in the dry.

it might be ok on the front if I did that as the canvass will be in an area that doesn't appear to be used that much lol

You can't blame the tyre for your set up Cossie  :peek:

i'm not

i'm blaming you :D

because I suggested them....   What will you be wearing when you come up to Cheshire?  Looking at the cold snap that is approaching I have been looking in the Yeti forum to see what winter tyres are the best.

Hell yeh :D

Dunno, prob jeans, t-shirt and a fleece of some sort lol

Oh you mean tyres.

Depending on if I get to use the tyre machine or not this week, it will either be a pair of 595 rsr-s on the rear and a pair of v70a's on the front, or it will be 595's on the front and R888's on the rear.
