Foam around PAS pump?

Featured Replies

Is it necessary? It was falling apart on my old pump, and its replacement just fitted was the same, so it was ditched!

Just wondering really....

The foam often gets removed when it gets soaked. I have never seen a problem due to it being missing in the UK.

Did it get fitted to later cars? No sign of our 05-plate ever having had it.

Mine doesn't have the foam either.

The foam is known for taking in water and basically holding the water against the pump.

I removed mine and put grease around all the wires and plugs.
