Stitching on New FBSW

Featured Replies

I know it's been pointed out that the new FBSW is missing the vRS logo - but does it at least have the correct stitching (i.e. red or silver)?

The only pictures i've seen are of ones with silver stitching....

It does. My MY15 car has the corresponding red stitching on the steering wheel

Hoorah!  Thanks - one less thing to worry about.  Hopefully, if all goes to plan, I'll be collecting mine next week instead of waiting until September...

Wasnt it a mistake by Skoda that the vRS badging isnt on the early flat bottom wheeled cars? Wouldnt bother me particularly but I bet you could get SUK to stick one on for you free of charge at a later date if you really had to have it.

There was mention in the MY2015 bulletin that the badge was to change on the standard supply vRS MFSW, but no mention that they were changing it to the FBSW, only that the FBSW was a new option on SE and Elegance.

Only speculation… but I reckon they either ran out of the original FBSW's sooner than expected (due to the known demand for the cars), or made a last minute decision to standardise the vRS with the FBSW for which they hadn't yet got the vRS badging.

Let's face it, Skoda are becoming a bit notorious for their parts issues as can be evidenced by the sporadic disappearance and reappearance of options on the MKIII as discussed in many of the threads on this forum.

If it was a last minute decision to put the FBSW on the vRS, then I wouldn't have expected it to come with red/silver stitching - just black as it does on the SE/Elegance (or, at least, that's how I understand it comes on those models).

And in other news, no new car for me until 1st September as originally planned - the get-out-of-the-lease cost for my company car is basically the same as keeping it now that I'm into the last 3 months of the lease!

Rather bump this thread than start another one.

Is the FBSW available with black stitching? as opposed to the red or silver.

Mine came with Black stitches, but is fitted to an Elegance model registered last August (2014)

On SuperSkoda they also do a white stitch.

My lease manager was like that. I had to phone him every day to persuade him that having to keep mine for another year would be a massive pain in the arsenal. 2 kids in a one series doesn't fit well.

I understood the only thread options were red or grey on a vrs.

I wonder if it actually white though as the part No. suggests it is actually grey? I cannot find a black stitched flat bottomed wheel anywhere.

That was my understanding too.
