If i unlock with fob, all doors unlock bar the drivers door. The lock twitches like its trying but doesnt actually unlock although it will lock ok with fob! It will unlock with the key no problem

Are there any known faults that it could be or is it likely to be the motor?

Yeah common problem on these cars is door locks. Either door mechanism. Door cable loom or door module that connects to window mechanism. Lots of threads on here and there is a sticky I did also on this page.

Well, took the door to bits today. Checked the usual plug but it was in mint condition, no sign of any water ingress, but still gave a good spray with a bit of wd40, had a good look around and did same to latch connector. Put it all back and remote locking and one touch window functions now working again. So guess its done some good

check the power feed to the lock from the fuse box.  I had this issue a while back, all my locks were doing funny things, some worked, some didn't.  Turned out to be 12v power supply wire which ran from fuse box to main harness. Even though the rest of your doors are working, it could still be the wiring for the individual door.  Check the wires where they go through the door hinge conduit, and also the connector bottom right of the driver side footwell.
