Far too many clicks on my handbrake so want to try adjusting it.

Removed the arm rest and one bolt from the arm rest mount. Feels like there's another bolt further toward the handbrake but can't get at it unless I remove the plastic cover around the lighter and handbrake and rear ashtray

Did a search but came back with 1.9tdi guides (2 torx Screws under rear ashtray) which I didn't see on my 1.8T mk1

Can anyone give a few pointers,would be big help

Even in Haynes it only seems to cover the other models and not the vrs!!

Can't see the 2 torx screws mentioned in the Haynes book under the ashtray!?

I would have though that something like the handbrake surround/cover would be standard across all Octys, regardless of trim/engine.

 

This picture only seems to suggest 2 screws towards the back of the cover.
